8 hours in the Marsden today –
Ultrasound shows breast lump has shrunk significantly and as primary cancer that is very good. Lymph node not, but I’ve been battling a cold/flu so could well be due to that.
Prof Aloof was a serious asshole. 10 min consult and part of that was him on the phone making lunch arrangements.
5 of the 8 hours hours waiting around/getting fucked around. It’s escalating each visit, the bullshit.
Formal complaint made. That feels good. Have been waiting to be strong enough – The Man was brilliant today and enabled me to do it.
Got large dose of anti histamine and was completely off my head for 2 hours plus. Not fun.
So far the chemo a lot less heavy than the EC. Tired from the anti histamine, but feel a lot better relatively. The side effects of the EC would kick in about 8 hours after so let’s see.

You are so, so right to make a complaint – some of these ‘professionals’ in whatever sphere are arrogant assholes and won’t ever get to know they’re arrogant assholes unless someone, very kindly, points it out to them – which you have done – well done. A spell at the Dr. ISIS school of etiquette would do him the power of good 🙂 And BRILLIANT news about primary lump shrinkage – as you say, the lymph node thing could be because of your flu symptoms. Told Anto last night about the ‘crab’ V ‘crap’ incident – priceless – good work, Trout! 🙂 xxx

Still giggling when I remember the crap/crab thing – the lovely, lovely woman who does the lunches was absolutely pissing herself laughing as well. It’s all very PC on a chemo ward….generally speaking…
