Just left the Marsden after a great meeting with the radiotherapist – the man whose name escapes me, but who will be working with the barking woman I saw last time!

To the important details – I will have 3 weeks and one day of radiotherapy, starting 13th May. Have to laugh – Friday 13th May :). That means my last session will be on Friday 3rd June!!! 5 days short of exactly 11 months since I was diagnosed. 

It will comprise of, combined, 16 sessions to my breast and 15 sessions to the lymph nodes in my collarbone. 

He was extremely personable, clearly vastly experienced, had a great sense of humour and was not in a hurry to get me out. We joked a lot, I told him about Dr ISIS, Prof Aloof’s disapproval the other day. Hang on – some people have just started playing ‘Hit the Road Jack’ on the tube!! Just as I posted on FB how much I love this as its happening more and more! Ah – except these guys are actually busking…not quite the same bringing joy energy…shame.

So – back to my now confirmed radiotherapy! I am so incredibly relieved to have this sorted now, to have met with this doc and have a final date for my end of treatment! He was also extremely reassuring about side effects – said they really are minimal which is great. And also said I can get my tattoo done before or during treatment – yippppeee!
